Trash Collection in Taiwan

As a kid, I was very successful in chasing the Ice Cream truck in Florida.  In Taiwan, I need to chase the trash truck.  Same music, and same idea that the time is similar - just not exact.  I finally made the effort caught up to it last night.  Really stupid since I've lived here in Tainan since Jan 2012, and just now caught the truck in October!!

If you live in Taiwan, you know the sound of the trash truck - nice loud classical music means that you must run with your trash bags and chase it down.  Of course, you need to sort the recycleables....

Hualien

Hualien is a famous destination on Taiwan's East Coast. No wonder. It's the gateway to many things - Taroko Gorge, 7 Star Beach, just to mention a few...

Teahouses in Taipei

The Maokong Gondola is a must for anyone going Taipei. Take the MRT to the Taipei Zoo station. On exiting the MRT station, turn left and walk for 10 minutes. You will see the Maokong gondola signs on the left.

You can use your Easycard or pay $50NT one way - well worth the trip! There are many teahouses that you can walk to and try delicious teas complete with the tea set.

If you are accustomed to driving a scooter in Taipei, you can drive up to Maokong. The entire place smells like fresh cut tea which is a nice break from the city. Maokong is a suburb of Taipei.

Nice friends in Taipei who introduced us to the teahouse and the Maokong Gondola. We liked the place so much, we went back the same week on scooters.
